The journey of motherhood is a joyful adventure with ups and downs. Though it is rewarding, there are times when you will feel stressed. A positive mind-set will enable you to overcome this situation. Here’s how you can handle the pregnancy stress.

Live in the Moment
There will be changes as you experience motherhood, and they will be unexpected. Learn to live and enjoy these changes and accept that they are part and parcel of pregnancy. There is something magical about a baby growing inside you no matter how challenging your pregnancy is right now. Remind yourself of that. Don’t let anyone or anything rob you of the joy of pregnancy.

There are Others like You
Whether online or offline, there are mothers who are going through exactly what you are going through right now. Get to know them and share your feelings with them. You won't feel like you are the only one with a problem when you know that someone is dealing with the same issues and challenges of motherhood.

Steal some Time Away
If it makes sense to just go away for even two hours of catching a movie on your own, steal that time away from all the stress. Make time for yourself as you will likely be hassling with all the preparations for baby to arrive and attending to other needs at home and at work. There is no need to feel guilty about reserving some “me time” as you need to take care of you so you can take care of yourself and other things. Look at “Me time” as a time to recharge.

One thing you should avoid during a period of stress is allowing bad eating habits to take over. After all, there is a risk of gaining excess weight, as well as other unwanted conditions when you have an unhealthy diet. Just take a breather and go do something that you like.

If you’d like to support your usual diet with good nutrition, you can try the nutrient-rich formulated milk for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, Nestlé MOM. 2 servings/ glasses per day provides you with around 87.6mg of DHA per day. DHA is found abundantly in the brain. It is also packed with 20 vitamins and minerals as well as BIFIDUS BL probiotics, 2 types of beneficial and friendly bacteria for you and your child during pregnancy and lactation. Add 2 glasses of Nestlé MOM a day to supplement the nutrition needed during your pregnancy.

Nobody can promise you a life without stress. However, if you are feeling pressured at times, it is important to express your feelings. Be it to your partner or your family, it should be to someone you trust. You will be feeling a lot better after, and they may even cheer you up.
